Keeper Selection draws on Rattlers F.C. Zach Brunner
Antelope Valley,California - The National Premier Soccer Leagues (NPSL) Technical Director Matt Driver has released the rosters of
this years NPSL All Stars. A week long tour of games and training that will begin in Huntsville, AL and travel to Raleigh, NC and
conclude back in Huntsville, AL. The All Star game was developed as a way that the NPSL can showcase the top talent in the
league to a number of Pro Scouts and agents. This gives the most talent players from each club through out the league the opportunity to be seen and to advance to the next level of play.
Goal Keeper Zach Brunner was selected to represent the Rattlers F.C. at this years event. Over 50 players with in the 38 teams among the NPSL where nominated for the All star game, but only 21 made the list. The selections included 7- Defenders, 7- Midfielder, 5- Forwards, and 2 -Goal Keepers. The All Star tour is scheduled for July 27th through Aug. 3rd. The players will arrive in Huntsville, AL. on July 26th and will begin a schedule of training and games that will take them to Raleigh NC. there they will play in game vs the North Carolina RailHawks of the NASL. They will return to Huntsville, AL and will face the Atlanta Silverbacks. All of
this will be done in front of a number of scouts from pro teams of every level and from all parts of the Country.bout the Player
Zach Brunner born August 13th 1984 Home town Lancaster, California, Starting playing at the age of 5. His ambition has always to play professionally, Zach started training for it in High School, he spent 4 years training with Zak Abdel, former goalkeeper trainer for the Los Angeles Galaxy & Chivas USA, currently with the U.S Men's National Team.In Zach has had a personal Goal Keeper coach since high school and has taken his position in the game a serious one. After
High School he played at Moorpark College, Moorpark California. 2002-2004 (AA degree) His first two years at Moorpark. His Freshman year Zach tied for 37th in the state of Ca. in goals against average. His Sophomore year he started all but two games, and finished 5th in the state in GAA with a 0.75 average, had 500 shutout minutes in 1200 minutes played. Received the honor of First team All Conference, Second Team All Region and Nominated All American. That was good enough for Zach to be awarded a scholarship to finish his schooling in Mt. Vernon Ga. at Brewton Parker College. His junior year he was first in the Southern States Athletic Conference
and 2nd in the NAIA in saves per game with just under 10. His senior year he received
honorable mention from the SSAC and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Sports & fitness. This is amazing and such an opportunity for me " said Zach Brunner on the All Star
Selection. "I'm honored! I've been working hard and been through a lot in the last five
years, so for this to happen when it did is very rewarding for me." Brunner went on to say " There's work to be done, I had an injury that I was resting until recently. I'm feeling strong and hopefully with this week of working hard will ensure I show up ready to step on the field. " I'm just going out there to have fun. The hard work is assumed, it comes with the territory, The experience is once in a lifetime and I just plan on making the best of it. Thanks to my parents, the Rattlers, and my wife and kids for all their love & support". Brunner said.
Brunner Join the Lancaster Rattlers of the Premier Development League of the USL. in 2007-2010 2009 in his 3rd season with the Lancaster Rattlers. The team as a whole improved with 19 points for the season and a record of 5-7-4. Ending in 7th Place. He
ended the 2009 campaign 1st in the entire PDL in Saves with 114...30 Saves I front of the #2 Goalkeeper. And also received 'Honorable Mention' from the USL for receiving the most votes of any other player on the team. Started & played 45 minutes with 1 goal against in the Rattlers 3-1 victory over Puebla F.C. of Mexico's 1st Division (front line team.) on October 6, 2009.
Zach is 26 years of age and this could be an excellent opportunity for him to be seen by Pro coach's, trainers and Scouts. He will differently be a good representation of the Rattlers F.C. We wish him the best and look for a follow up to this story. 
Rattlers F.C. will send three players to New York for a personal tryout with their affiliate F.C. New York,
Derek Dodrill- a defender from New Mexico, Alex Harlley- an attacking midfielder from Rosamond,CA (originally from ToGo Africa), and Matt Niescierowicz- a defending midfielder from Banff of the UK (England) have been invited to New York by the Rattlers F.C. pro affiliate to participate in a week long training session with team. Mr. Doug Peterson, CEO and Paul Shaw, Head Coach of F.C. New York has asked that the Rattlers F.C. attend camp with the pro team July 25th- 28th for the purpose of giving them a personal try-out. "This is our main purpose for the team", said Gerald Brunner of Rattlers F..C. "This gives them something they would of never gotten anywhere else. Anyone can go to a open pro tryout. The teams will hold open tryouts that are exactly that, open to everyone and anyone who wishes to tryout. Usually there is a fee around $150.00 for a chance to stage your talent " But this is different Brunner explains. "This is what makes us different! These tryouts for pro teams can yield as many as 200 plus players attending such of an event.
Advantages to OUR affiliation is that one, there is no Fee and two, there isn't over 200 other players trying for what may be only one or two spots on the team. This is such a huge thing for the guys! They get looked at on a more intimate level. They will train and scrimmage with the first team and with the coaches and trainers in attendance to evaluate each player. Having only three players means the coach will be looking
at only them. They will have the coach's undivided attention on them for four days of training. Very few teams can offer this to their players. I believe in the NPSL we are the only team with a pro affiliate at this time. We haven't gotten to the point yet like in baseball where the coaches and scouts are out visiting teams throughout the season. They are based on our evaluation and recommendations. They get a personal
invitation to join the pro team and get an opportunity to stage their talent. It's not something where we can invite the whole team. We have to maintain credibility with the pro affiliate so therefore we have to
make sure we are sending quality players that we firmly believe can steponto a pro field and help the team perform." Brunner continued to explain,"We have to be somewhat picky on who wesuggest. We have other players that I believe can also play and perform at the professional level, but they may not be ready at this time. I don't want to send players that they will get excited about and then come to find out they can't join the team due to other commitments, such as school. Players in college must finish college first. This means any players in school that may have what it takes to move up, can't, at this particular time. This
means we don't get a players hopes up that can't advance at this time. We don't want to waste the teams time and energy looking at someone they can not do anything with."
Derek Dodrill- a 23 year old defender from New Mexico attended Kansas Wesleyan University before joining the Rattlers F.C. While at KWU in 2008-2009 he made first team all KCAC as a midfielder/defender and 2nd team All KCAC in 2010. He helped lead his team to the regular season championships in 2007-2008 and 2010. He also lead his team as captain to two National Tournament appearances in 2009 and 2010.
Alex Harlley-a 19 year old, originally form ToGo Africa, presently resides in Rosamond, California. He started playing in Africa at the age of 6 and played for the National team U-17 before moving to the United States in Feb. 2010. Alex attends Rosamond High School and was awarded last season with MVP of the high desert league and top goal scorer in the league. He comes from a family of soccer players. In fact,
Alex is the nephew of the famous player in Real Madrid, Emmanuel Adeboyor. It is easy to see the talent that is in this kids blood. He's an excellent player; on and off the ball, has a rocket of a shot, and most importantly, he is a wonderful person to be around. He has a very good personality and is well mannered. Character counts!
Matt Niescierowicz- will be turning 26 this fall and came to the Rattlers F.C. by recommendation of the Rattlers F.C. Captain, Stephen Martines. Matt is here from his native country England. He was born in 1984 in Banff, UK and currently lives in Sherman Oaks, CA. He travels daily to the Antelope Valley to train and play with the Rattlers F.C. Matt is an excellent defending midfielder who causes nothing but havoc for
the other team! He is a get in your face type player that can go continuously giving 100% for 90 minutes on the pitch. Matt is good both on and off the ball with good ball control
