Rattlers score first but loss 5-3

Palmdale, California- Rattlers came out looking like they where picking up from where they left off last week in the exciting 3-2 win over
F.C. Hasental. Scoring first and leading at half time proved not to be enough in a 5-3 loss to the San Diego Boca on Saturday
night. Rattlers F.C. will be without the services of Alex Harlley next Friday night as they face the Northern Divisional leaders
Hollywood United due to a Red Card, thats the second red card on a Rattler in as many games. Rattlers F.C. Have picked up their
game and not only in scoring 13 goals in the last four games, but the team is playing much more aggressive as well, with 10 cards
over the same last four games.

It was the ejection of midfielder Alex Harlley that was the turning point for the local team, as the Rattlers gave up three unanswered goals in the remaining 18 minutes of play after Harlley was ejection. Just seven minutes into the game midfielder Jose Garay picked up a ball that was going back and fourth in the midfield, Forward Miguel Ibarra first handled the ball through the middle,
giving it off to forward Mathayo Huma who had a blocked attempt that Garay got his foot onto right in front of the Boca net slipping it in to give the Rattlers an early 1-0 lead.

Then in the 14th minute Boca came back and knotted it up off of a cross from Keeper Zach Brunner's left side. Boca's Picon managed to tie up the score. At that point Boca took advantage of a foul committed by the Rattlers 20 yards from the Rattlers goal and on a re-start Boca's Coronado placed a nice ball to the upper corner of the net out of the reach of keeper Brunner to take a one goal lead over the home team.
Then in the 35th minute while the Rattlers where on the attack Boca received a hand ball in there box and a penalty kick was awarded to the Rattlers, Harlley quickly evened the score up at 2 each. Rattlers were not done in the half however as a beautiful combination play between Miguel Ibarra and Alex Harlley proved to be to much for Boca as an excellent pass from Ibarra to Harlley was enough to take a half time lead of 3-2.

The Second half is where it fell apart of the Rattlers maintaining the lead until the 78th minute. Just one minute before Harlley received his Red card for a 50/50 tackle that seemed harmless
to everyone else in attendance but the center official. The other Boca player screamed in agony as if he had been kicked and on that & that alone the official gave a direct red card to Harlley. That seemed to be too much for the Rattlers, a minute later Boca capitalized on a miscue by keeper Brunner who lost possession of the ball and Boca took advantage to tie up the game.

Boca's Bojorquez received a second yellow for kicking field supplies all over the field after being substituted and not liking it. It was on that second yellow that Bojorquez received a red card as well, but because Bojorquez was on the bench at the time of the second yellow Boca did not have to remove a player from the field. Boca showed other signs of frustration as midfielder Cameron
Roget shoved Ibarra into the same water cooler as they battled for control of the ball down the left side of the field, Roget received a yellow for his action. Rattlers Coach Cline had a talk with the officials after the game and questioned why other misconduct by the Boca went uncalled by the referees. "Boca was a disappointment in terms of the unprofessional conduct on and off the field. Knocking over the field equipment and being disrespectful on the field to the officials and cussing at them. It's Uncalled for at any level, Cline said; "I think our team has a lot of class whether we're winning or losing, we still are respectful and will shake your hand".
Boca finished the game with two more goals to cap a 5-3 win. " This team is unbelievable" said Rattlers CEO Gerald Brunner," not only was the show of unprofessional attitude on the field with the kick of equipment and the shoving of players but the foul language that was used to the officials, it is really surprising the officials didn't put more cards up for them." Brunner went on to say " Off the field it was just as bad as Greg Shen, Bocas new Director of Player Development was prospecting our players right before the game getting their phone numbers to contact them. When Boca's general manager Yan K. Skwara was asked about that he came back with a poor excuse as he tried to cover up the conduct. And during the game Boca's General Manager Travis Chesney who was acting as a photographer was running up and down the side lines coaching as he was taking pictures" " This is very unprofessional at this level of play. This kind of conduct only brings down the image of the league." said Brunner.

Rattlers will now prepare for their final games next week; July 1st: Friday night they will host Hollywood United at 5:00pm and on Saturday July 2nd the San Diego Flash comes to town to wrap up the season.

Ibarra, Brunner Lead Rattlers to Win

The heat seems to bring the out the best in the Rattlers, as they edged F.C. Hasental 3-2 on a warm evening at Palmdale High School.

Miguel Ibarra put on an offensive show, scoring all three goals for the Rattlers, getting the game winner in the 94th minutes. Keeper Zach Brunner entered the game in goal after starter Martin Ruiz went down with a knee injury just 33 minutes into the
game. F.C. Hasental pressed for multiple scoring opportunities in the final ten minutes of play, but Brunner came up big for his team making several big plays that ended up saving the day for the Rattlers.

Ibarra got his first goal in the 15th minute. Zach Brunner came in to replace Martin Ruiz in the net when Ruiz went down with a knee injury. Soon after that, Ibarra picked up his 2nd goal, and the Rattlers led 2-1 at the break.

In the 70th minute the Rattlers went down a man due to a red card, and the visitors took advantage by scoring the tying goal. But a few minutes later Hasental also lost a man due to cards.

Playing was 10v10 the rest of the way, and Brunner made a couple of great saves, appearing to preserve the 2-2 tie. But Ibarra got his third of the game in injury time, and the Rattlers walked off the field with a thrilling 3-2 victory.

Rattlers F.C. Playing Exciting Game in 4-3 loss

Palmdale,California - Rattlers F.C. Where looking to continue on what they had started last Sunday where they wrapped up a long seven week road trip with a 8-4 win over the Bay Area Ambassadors. The effort was there and the play was there but not the results as the local team fell to the National Premier Soccer Leagues 2010 National Champions 4-3 at Palmdale High School Saturday night.

After the team came off a season high in goal scoring last Sunday with 8 goals Coach Jarrod Cline was looking to continue the much of the same offensive attack with the Sacramento Gold, who had won the National Title last season in the NPSL. The goal scoring did continue but for both teams. As in the 15th minute of play the Gold struck first as Sacramento's Miguel Aguilar received a pass center stage in front of the Rattlers net to place it right by Rattler
keeper Martin Ruiz to take the early lead 1-0. A goal down in the first few minutes as been the tread with the Rattlers, but that is what seem to spark the team as of late. Alex Harrley the Rattlers midfielder in the 33rd minute of play even the score when from 20 yards away the ball bounce off several players until it found Harlley who quickly fired a rocket to the upper corner that blasted beyond and through the net to knot the game at one apiece. The next 12
minutes of play was a back and fourth battle for both teams sharing shot for shot until Aguilar collect his second goal of the half in the 41st minute to lead his team to a one goal advantage at the end of the first half.

The second half the Rattlers really started to compete and came out ready as in the 48th minute of the game, three minutes in the second half it was Harrlley who fed a pass to Rattlers F.C. Defender and second half substitute Rodrigo Gerber, whose shot was a looper over the Gold defender and the keeper to put the Rattlers even once again at 2 each.

The back and fourth play continued until when the Gold was on the attack and in side the plenty box Rattlers defender Max Garcia fouled the Gold attacker. This became a controversial play as the official blow the whistle for the plenty kick before Rattlers keeper Martin Ruiz was set on
the line. After the play the official admitted to the mistake of the quick whistle giving the advantage to the Gold but the play was done and the goal was counted to give the lead back to the visitors 3-2.

Again the Rattlers re-grouped and began to attack once again and the Gold appeared to have their hands full as they seem to start showing signs of fatigue and the younger quicker Rattlers team just kept coming. In the 69th minute forward Roberto Mariscal gathered the ball on a long pass duked out the Gold defense and shot it on target but caught the post and bounced back in the field of play, where midfielder Miguel Ibarra was waiting and tapped it passed the unexpected Gold keeper to once again knot up the score at 3-3. Both teams continued to battle back and fourth for the next 15 minutes with what seem to be even opportunities for both teams, but it was the Gold late in the game who got the finishing goal on a shot by Ivan Bermudez that slipped by Ruiz to take the lead once again, and for the last time as the God edge pass the Rattlers F.C. with a 4-3 victory.

Rattles F.C. tough loss leaves them 2-8-0 in the NPSL on the season. With a tremendous amount of improvement in this team the last few games the score hasn't shown it but the game has. The team as put on some exciting games as of late as shown last night as the home town fans really enjoyed the exciting play shown by their involvement through out the game.

Head Coach Jarrod Cline can see that the team is gaining progress and unfortunately it takes time. The team who had began with only 3 or 4 returning players rebuilt the team. It has come a long way since then but the league play continues and its taught to gain in the standings against establish teams while in the re-building stage.

"We are seeing some cohesiveness in the team now we just need to put the whole game together" says head coach Cline.

The Rattlers F.C. will face F.C. Hasental next Saturday at 5:00pm for the Third time this season. Losing to them in the season opener on April 23rd and then again on the road a month later on May 28th the Rattlers will be looking to get one back.

Bottom Line: Rattlers F.C. 10 shots on goal 11saves with 3 goals and 3 assist. Gold: 14 shots on goal 8 saves 4 goals

Rattlers just coming off a win in San Jose and will be join by two college players who have been released to play is Tyler Coombes and Miguel Ibarra, The Rattlers F.C. will have additional help in defense as Frantzy Noze has been cleared by the USSF and NPSL for play. Rattlers Collect three points in 2-1 win over Real San Jose

May 14th, 2011-San Jose, CA;San Jose, CA; The Rattlers F.C Seem to have something of a “Northbound Curse”, as ever since their inaugural 2007 season they have had the misfortune of traveling to their northbound opponents short on players and short on luck. That is, until they get to their destination and step onto the field. In 2007 the Rattlers F.C. (Then The Lancaster Rattlers) traveled to San Francisco to
face the Seals, having their bus break down on them on the way twice, & where the back-up goalie played forward for the final 20 minutes of the game. The Rattlers fought hard and walked away with a 2-1 win. In 2008 the Rattlers traveled to Fresno with one sub and once again, the back-up keeper stepped onto the pitch at striker, with the Rattlers walking away with a 4-3 victory thanks to current starter, and new to the defense; Martin Galvan.
Later 2008 The Rattlers travelled to Bakersfield only to have their bus break down on them in Mojave. After enough people back tracked to get their cars, they came back for the rest of the team. The Rattlers arrived last minute to take the game once again. In 2009 The Rattlers were forced to squeeze thirteen players into a 12 passenger van and head twelve hours to Utah to face the Ogden Outlaws and the B.Y.U Cougars, arriving home with a win and a tie and 4 much needed points. Repeating that same thing in 2010 against
the same two Utah based teams returning with 4 points.
Well, 2011 should be no different, as the Rattlers F.C. (1-0-3) travelling North once again to face Real San Jose (1-0-6), leaving at 8:30pm Friday night with 14 players, arriving at 2am with kick off at
7pm the next night. The game started off pretty neutral with both teams getting plenty of chances early. Real San Jose was mostly pressuring from the outside getting a few nice crosses that were easily handled by The Rattler defense. Real San Jose did come close early one with a fumble just outside the six yard box. As the Real Midfielder struck a ball into the box from outside the 18 that deflected around and was once again picked up by Real San Jose and was fired far post, only to be deflected back out to midfield by charging Rattler ‘keeper Zach Brunner. After that however the Rattler F.C. team took control of the game, as it wasn’t long until Rattler Alex Harley drove a 40 yard ball across the entire 18 to a waiting Miguel Guillen who wasted no time and volleyed it into the opposite side netting, putting his team up by one before the half. The Rattlers did’t stop their attack hitting the post twice before the half closed 1-0.The second half opened up with San Jose sparked up from all the action in half one, not getting too many shots directly on target for the majority of the game, but receiving more than 15 throw ins and corner kicks in the second half alone. And it was off of a throw in from the left side of the goal that dropped in and skid off of the Real San Jose player’s head and in the net. The game bobbled back and forth with most of the action in the middle of the field for the majority of the second half. But late in the half Rattler midfielder Roberto Mariscal took a ball from the left from Mathayo Huma & as he brought the ball right he drove it low left into the side netting, leaving the Real ‘keeper stunned and standing only to watch as the Rattlers went up to 2-1. And once again folks! They came home victorious from the North 2-1.

Rattlers Edged by Winds, 2-1

The Santa Ana Winds blew through the Rattlers in a game played at Palmdale last week. The Winds made it a sweep by beating the Rattlers 2-1 in a game played in Santa Ana this past weekend.

After 45 minutes of play the score was even at 0-0. Then in the 55th minute the Rattlers Mathayo Huma scored his first goal of the season on a blast that left the Winds keeper standing helpless. Miguel Ibarra had the assist, hitting Huma with a beautiful pass after carrying the ball into the the offensive zone.

The Rattlers only had three minutes to enjoy their lead. The Winds tied it up in the 58th minute, beating keeper Zach Brunner at the near post. Then, just two minutes later the Wind scored what turned out to be the game winner.

The Rattlers defense held ground after that, with Brunner making 15
saves that kept the game with in reach. “Our keeper had a good game or it could have been 6-1″ said Rattlers head coach Jarrod Cline. “We played a lot better, but not great.” Cline went on to say “basically it comes down to hard work and practices. The talent is here now, they just need to work hard and be more consistent at practices and in the games.”

Next up: Rattlers will travel to San Jose to take on Real San Jose (1-0-5) on May 14th. The following weekend they will be in San Diego to take on the San Diego Boca on Saturday and the San Diego Flash on Tuesday. The Rattlers won’t return home until June 11th when they will take on the Sacramento Gold, last years NPSL National
Champions.
